My name is Aaron Alumbaugh. My wife Kimberly and I opened our home inspection business in 2016. Kimberly has an extensive background in customer service, sales, and marketing. She worked for nearly 20 years in the hobby industry serving primarily as an executive account manager. She left her career to be at home with our son when he was born. During that time she nurtured her love for photography and opened a business. However, her primary focus is our home inspection and radon business. Her commitment to excellence is unparalleled.
Every home inspector in the state of Illinois is licensed. We all have passed the same test. In this way all home inspectors are exactly the same. So how are we different from each other? How home inspectors obtain their education and what they do after passing the test can be and is quite different. I am proud to say that I went through the Bellman Group’s home inspector training program at Joliet Junior College. The program is an intense 88 hour instructor led home inspector training program. The state of Illinois only requires 60 hours of training before an inspector can sit for the state test. This is the first example of many where you will see that I go over and beyond to ensure that I am more than prepared to do my job for you.
Illinois requires every home inspector to complete 6 hours of continuing education (CE) per year. As a Certified Professional Inspector (CPI) through the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors (InterNACHI), I am required to complete 24 hours of continuing education to keep my designation of CPI. In 2015 I completed 40 hours of CE through InterNACHI and have completed 52 hours of CE in 2016. Home inspectors are not required to join an association such as InterNACHI. The requirements set by InterNACHI to maintain membership are above and beyond the requirements to maintain licensure in Illinois. Again, I exceed the requirements to ensure my knowledge and ability to my job for you!
The state of Illinois also requires all home inspectors to have a high school diploma or GED. This is a minimum requirement set by the state. Again I exceed the qualifications. I am a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Millikin University. I graduated in 2009 with a degree in Elementary Education. I graduated while going to school full time and working full time as well. I do not state these facts to brag or put down anyone that may not have a college degree. I only point it out to show you that I am intelligent and hard working and would love to have the opportunity to put these skills to work for you in your home buying process.
Ultimately, the ability of a home inspector to do their job for you comes down to their willingness to put in the time and effort combined with their knowledge. I can provide you the unparalleled service, knowledge, commitment and skills need to do the job. I look forward to the opportunity to assist you in any home inspection service that you may need today and in the future. Thank you for your consideration.
Proudly serving central Illinois.
